Another valuable resource for older Americans is BenefitsCheckUp, a free service through the National Council on Aging (NCOA). BenefitsCheckUp helps you find state, federal, and private benefits programs available where you live. These benefits programs can help pay for prescriptions, health care, food, utilities, and more. You can also get help with tax relief, transportation, legal issues, or finding work. BenefitsCheckUp asks a series of questions to help identify benefits that could save you money and cover the costs of everyday expenses.
After answering the questions, you will get a report created just for you that describes the programs you may get help from. You can apply for many of the programs online or you can print an application form.
